Privacy Policy
Summary: Your audio recordings never leave your device. We collect only account details, transcription text, and diagnostic data needed to run the service. We do not sell your data. When you delete your account, your personal identifiers are permanently removed and remaining data is anonymized — it can no longer be linked to you.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly and information generated automatically when you use the app.
Information you provide:
- Account details — name and email address, managed securely through our authentication provider (Clerk).
- Transcription text — the text output generated from your speech on your device, which is synced to our servers so you can access it across sessions.
- Support requests and any messages you send us.
Information collected automatically:
- Device type, operating system, and app version.
- Crash reports and performance diagnostics (no audio content is included).
- Feature usage events to understand how the app is used in aggregate.
What we do not collect:
- Audio recordings — your recordings are stored only on your device and are never transmitted to our servers or any third party.
How We Use Your Information
We use collected information solely to operate and improve the service:
- Store and display your transcription text so you can access it across sessions.
- Authenticate your account and keep it secure.
- Send transactional emails (verification codes, account alerts).
- Diagnose bugs and improve performance.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not receive, process, or analyze your audio recordings. Speech-to-text conversion happens entirely on your device.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in these limited cases:
- Service providers — cloud hosting, analytics, and error-monitoring vendors who are contractually bound to protect your data.
- Legal requirements — when required by a valid court order, law, or regulation.
- Business transfers — if we merge with or are acquired by another company, you will be notified before your data is transferred.
Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Transcription text is stored on our servers and retained for the duration of your account.
Account deletion: When you delete your account, your authentication credentials are permanently and immediately removed — you will no longer be able to sign in, including through Google or other social providers. Your name and any identifying information are replaced with anonymized values. Your session history and usage data are retained in this anonymized form indefinitely for service improvement and cannot be linked back to you.
Audio recordings are stored only on your device and are not subject to our retention schedule — you control them entirely through your device storage.
Anonymized and aggregate data may be kept indefinitely as it can no longer be linked to any individual.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to fix inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion — request erasure of your account and associated data.
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Objection — opt out of certain processing activities.

Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your data, including secure authentication managed by Clerk and encrypted data transmission. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
VeyoApp is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. When we make material changes, we will notify you via in-app notice or email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the app after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
